Very rare, vintage Tombow pencil illustrated by the pioneering artist Setsuko Tamura whose work embodies the Japanese aesthetic Kawaii, literally defined as "cuteness." These pencils are part of Setsuko's 1970s series of super-cute pencils she designed for Tombow.

Pencil has a hexagonal body, fully painted with Setsuko's work, solid red end cap and graphite grade is HB (No. 2.) As with all quality vintage pencils, these still write and sharpen beautifully (if you can bring yourself to do more than collect and admire.)
